Syrah 2006
Our cellared and bottle-aged Syrah of great complexity, gamey and savoury with black pepper, liquorice, dark fruit, plum and leathery notes. Great wine with roasts, game and good cheese. It is similar to the 2005 – our first Syrah vintage -
**** – ‘Maturing well, the 2005 vintage (****) was grown at Church Bay, Waiheke Island, and matured in French and American oak casks. Its a full-coloured, sweet-fruited wine, with mouth-filling body and plum and spice flavours, peppery and lingering’ - Buyers Guide to NZ Wine, Michael Cooper, 2010.
